Household Hazardous Waste

An important component of Liberty’s recycling program is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection. Liberty area residents may participate at no charge in the Regional HHW Center collection program. This includes access to mobile collection events in Liberty and other participating communities as well as access to permanent facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit.

The following is a list of sample items that can be disposed of safely at the permanent facilities:
  • Automotive products, antifreeze
  • Batteries
  • CFL light bulbs
  • Fertilizers, Flammables, Fuels
  • Hazardous cleaners, Hazardous liquids, Household cleaners
  • Lawn and Garden products
  • Paint, Pesticides, Photographic chemicals, Pool chemicals
  • Solvents
  • Thinners
  • Used oil
Please keep waste materials in their original containers and do not mix them.
