Art Exhibitor Application

Call to Artists

The public art galleries in Liberty City Hall, the Liberty Community Center and the Mid-Continent Public Library - Liberty Branch are seeking artists who wish to exhibit their work. Work must be wall art and may include printing, drawing, multi-media, textiles, illustrations, photography or other work that can be hung on the walls.

All exhibited art must be framed when applicable or finished and ready to hang using the provided hanging systems at each gallery. We also will consider original poetry and creative writing that is mounted and framed. Work must be original; no reproductions are allowed.

All submitted work is juried by a committee selected by the Public Art Committee of the Liberty Arts Commission. Selected artists will exhibit for six to eight weeks.

Depending on the gallery location, artists are encouraged to also present a program related to their exhibit. Examples of programs could include:
  • Meet the artist program
  • Demonstration of technique or medium
  • Poetry reading of exhibited poetry
  • Children's activity
  • Adult or senior adult activity or talk related to the medium or subject matter
  • Book sale or signing for illustrator/authors
A program is not required and artists wanting only to exhibit with no program are also encouraged to apply.

We are currently scheduling the 2018 calendar year for all three galleries. Please complete the online application which includes five work samples.

While the three galleries are in generally safe public places, exhibitors wishing to insure their materials, wares and goods must do so at their own expense.

By the act of sending in an application, the exhibitor agrees that the city of Liberty, the Mid-Continent Public Library and the Liberty Community Center are not responsible for any loss, damage, destruction or injury to the exhibitor. All claims for any loss, damage, destruction or injury are expressly waived by the exhibitor.
