B & B Theaters
  • B & B Theater will open a new $11 million theater and office complex within Blue Jay Crossing development
  • the land has been purchased by B & B which will open the new theater in 2016
  • B & B had to find temporary location to allow Liberty Commons to begin construction
  • The theater will have 13 screens, 20,000 square feet of office and banquet facilities to accommodate over 200 people
  • All the theaters will be stadium, reclining, seating and patrons will be able to reserve seats online for every screen
  • The project is utilizing Chapter 100 financing for equipment and is currently located within a TIF District

Forest Avenue Apartments (NorthPoint Development)
  • A 292 market rate $28 million multi-family development located just north of 291 Highway along Forest Avenue
  • The project includes 6 buildings of 4 and 5 story
  • Each unit will include stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, granite countertops
  • Units include 1 and 2 bedroom
  • The size of the apartments range from 900 to 1,200 square feet
  • Construction begins in 2016
  • The project utilizes Chapter 100 financing; NorthPoint will continue to pay property taxes

  • Located along Withers Road and just south of the Liberty Community Center
  • 124 single-family lots abutting a conservation area
  • Included will be a clubhouse and trails connecting to the conservation area trail system

Duffey Development 2
Ford Stamping Plant (Ford Motor Company)
  • A $200 million stamping plant built by Ford specifically to provide parts for the Transit Van
  • Opened in 2012, 250 employees have been added to Liberty
  • Located south of South Liberty Parkway and adjacent to the Ford Assembly plant, the 420,000 square feet building is one of the major construction projects in Liberty
  • Four presses 40 feet tall and range in weight from 435 tons to 925 tons
  • The project utilized Chapter 100 financing

LMV Automotive Systems (Magna International)
  • Starting in 2012 LMV constructed a 213,000 square foot facility that produces parts for the Ford Transit Van
  • In 2014, LMV completed a 470,000 square foot expansion that produces parts for the GM Malibu
  • A total investment of over $90 million
  • Over 500 employees
  • In 2015, LMV opened a new Innovation and Training Center in their facility
  • The Center will train employees in skilled trade needed for LMV's automotive facilities
  • The project utilized Chapter 100 tax abatement financing
Science and Technology Park (City of Liberty)
  • City-owned 42 acre site located within Heartland Meadows Business Park
  • Primarily supporting the science related and technology related industries
  • Adjacent to 69 Highway and within one half mile of Interstate 35
  • Fifteen minutes from downtown Kansas City and MCI, Kansas City International airport
Science Tech Park

  • The City has committed $5 million towards the reconstruction of downtown Liberty infrastructure
  • Streetscape design will include new street construction, sidewalk widening, crosswalk reconstruction, utility improvements
  • Use of landscape architects, planners, engineers, cost management consultants and community outreach services
  • Maintaining a historic perspective yet providing a "sense of place" for visitors
