Community Notification System

The City of Liberty is implementing a high-speed, community notification system to send important alerts and time-sensitive messages to Liberty residents, business owners and visitors. This CodeRED system allows the City to quickly deliver messages to subscribers in targeted areas of the City or to the city as a whole.

Registration for this notification service is customized, allowing residents, business or property owners, and visitors to choose which alerts they’d like to sign up for and how they would prefer to receive them.

Subscribers will determine what types of alerts they would like to receive:

  • Emergency Notifications for incidents that endanger the life or human safety or generate a serious risk to buildings, infrastructure, etc.  Emergency notifications will be made at any time of day or night and will be limited as much as possible to the particular geographic area affected.
  • General Notifications for incidents that are urgent but don’t meet the threshold for emergency notifications, such as water main breaks. General notifications will typically be sent between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Subscribers also will choose how they would like to be contacted:

  • Landline
  • Cell phone
  • Email
  • Text message
  • TTY - Tone delivery, for hearing impaired
  • Or even a combination.

These alerts can be specific to streets, neighborhoods, or regions so that residents in affected areas are sure to receive this valuable information.

Residents, business owners and visitors can also keep track of alerts in the City of Liberty with the CodeRED Mobile App, which notifies smartphone holders of real-time alerts in the area. Similar to the online registration, users choose which notifications they’d like to receive via the app.

Signing up for CodeRed is easy!

All residents and business owners are encouraged to sign up for CodeRED to immediately start receiving these informative, life-saving alerts. Sign up»

City-wide Testing

The City of Liberty will issue two test messages to users per year at the beginning of March and mid-October to coincide with the outdoor warning system testing.
