Wednesday, July 25, 2018

Join us on July 25 for a day of fellowship as we visit the National WWI Museum and Memorial which is ranked the #5 museum in the US by Yelp and ranked #1 attraction in Kansas City by TripAdvisor!

National WWI Museum and Memorial
The National WWI Museum and Memorial is ranked the #5 museum in the US by Yelp and ranked #1 attraction in Kansas City by TripAdvisor! Our group will undoubtedly learn a thing or two on our guided tour. Steeped in history, the National World War I Museum and Memorial is America’s only museum dedicated to sharing the stories of the Great War through the eyes of those who lived it.

Over There Café
Our group will enjoy lunch at 12:30 p.m. at the Over There Café  located within the WWI Museum. Guests will pay for their meal on their own dime. Guests dine surrounded by World War I-themed décor featuring the flags of the Allied and Central Powers and a poppy field mural. Menu items include freshly prepared sandwiches, pizza, salads, soups, snacks and desserts named for people and places from the Great War.

After lunch Day Trippers will have the option of heading back to the museum or purchasing a $2.00 ticket to head to the top of the Liberty Memorial.

Liberty Memorial Tower (OPTIONAL)
Following the style of Egyptian Revival architecture, the Liberty Memorial was designed in the early 1920s by H. Van Buren Magonigle. Learn about the many architectural and symbolic elements that make the Liberty Memorial one of Kansas City’s iconic landmarks.
