NWS Storm Spotter Training Course

Clay County Emergency Management has partnered with the City of Liberty to host the National Weather Service’s 2019 Storm Spotter Training Course on Monday, March 25th at the Liberty Performing Arts Theater located at the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Road. The course will begin at 7pm. This is a FREE event.
Each spring, the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Pleasant Hill conducts free Severe Weather Spotter Training Courses in numerous locations throughout its forecast area. These training courses last approximately 90 minutes, are open to the public and do not require you to register ahead of time. Topics covered include:
-Severe thunderstorm basics
-How to visually identify severe storm features
-How to report observed severe weather
-Storm spotter safety
Whether you want to become more involved with severe storm spotting to assist local officials and the National Weather Service, or you just want to learn more about severe thunderstorms, this is the course for you.
