CCAAL Juneteenth Celebration

Join the Clay County African American Legacy (CCAAL) for its 22nd annual Juneteenth celebration with an expanded weekend of events. Friday, June 17, will kick off the celebration with a dedication of the Sankofa Bird sculpture and festivities at Garrison School. Saturday, June 18, will start with the dedication of the African American Legacy Memorial at Fairview New Hope Cemetery followed by the Clay County Juneteenth Festival: BBQ, blues, jazz and history in historic downtown Liberty. This event will feature a BBQ contest held by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
