Free CERT training class

CERT

The Liberty Community Emergency Response Team is offering a FREE class to people 16 and older who want to learn how to take care of themselves and their families during a disaster. The course includes 8 sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays between Oct. 4 Nov. 1 at the Liberty Fire Station #1. To graduate, participants must complete all sessions.

Liberty CERT is a group of organized volunteers, sponsored by the Liberty Fire Department, to help Liberty respond to and recover from an emergency.

Graduates of the CERT class, who want to take their preparedness a step further and assist their community in case of an emergency, may join Liberty CERT after passing a background check. During the course, participants will learn about: •Disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact our area

  • Basic disaster response skills including fire safety
  • Search and rescue techniques
  • How to organize a team
  • Disaster medical operations
  • Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
