Cultivate KC is implementing the Missouri Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program in the Kansas City area (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Ray and Cass counties). This program provides funds to low-income seniors, individuals who are at least 60 years old and have a household income of less than 185% federal poverty income level to purchase eligible foods from participating vendors at the Liberty Downtown Farmers' Market.
Participating seniors receive 10 vouchers each worth $5.00 to exchange for produce with authorized farmers.
Just a reminder, seniors or their designated proxy* will need to bring the following items to your site (on the dates/times designated in our schedule) in order to apply and receive vouchers.
*If the applicant can’t make it to apply themselves, they can designate a proxy to submit their application (attached to this email) and redeem their vouchers with authorized farmers.
Kathleen Foster and her team will be at the Liberty Community Center to help seniors apply and answer any questions. If seniors qualify, vouchers will be handed out in person at the LCC on a date yet to be announced.
