Youth Workshops


4-H provides kids with community, mentors, and learning opportunities to develop the skills they need to create positive change in their lives and communities. Liberty Parks & Rec and Clay County 4-H have partnered to offer the following workshops:

February 4 - What’s for Dinner?

During this fun night, we will be exploring the different food resources in the area and availability of food for families everywhere. This is a compassion and empathy-building lesson that helps participants understand how poverty creates tough choices for people in need. It fuels participants’ motivation in the fight against hunger and provides suggestions for how to take action. Register »

March 4 – Science Fun Night

We will be exploring the different aspects of STEAM in this class! STEAM stands for (science, technology, engineering, art and math).  We will be engaging in real world, hands-on, collaborative learning while mastering important concepts in mathematics science! Register » 

April 1 – Exploring Computer Science with 4-H

This will be a computer-based night that gives youth the opportunity to animate a passion, issue or cause they care about using code. This class will introduce youth to Computer Science through CS First and Scratch, a block-based coding language developed by MIT. We will also be learning the concepts of automation and efficiency, and teaches the basic principles of writing instructions for computers to follow. Register »
