LPR Received More Than $400,000 in Grants for 2022

The Liberty Parks & Rec Department received $417,890 in grants over the calendar year 2022. These grants (listed in alphabetical order) were received from:

  • AmeriCorps (RSVP - Retired Senior Volunteer Program) - $75,000 - Support for the Health and Wellness Division allowing them to engage persons 55 and older in volunteer services to meet critical community needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of our volunteers. 
  • Capitol Federal $2,500 - Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation Annual Campaign. 
  • Clay County Senior Services - $182,000 - Liberty Access Bus transportation administration and grants for Community Center Memberships. 
  • Dick's Sporting Goods - $1,000 - Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation Annual Campaign.
  • Harry C. Arnote - $3,022 - Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation Annual Campaign. 
  • Liberty Giving Circle - $15,000 - Purchase of a Mobile Meals application to begin monitoring Change of Condition for Meals on Wheels recipients, allowing the program to help our recipients avoid a decline in their health, increase volunteer engagement and improve the efficiency of program operations.
  • Mid America Regional Council - $95,780 - Supports Silver Center equipment purchases and program administration, Liberty Meals on Wheels, Liberty Access Bus transportation administration and Evidence-Based programs. 
  • Missouri Department of Natural Resources - $31,872  - Playground Scrap Tire Surface Material Grant allowing LPR to get recycled benches and picnic tables. T.R.I.M. Grant helps fund tree inventories, removal or pruning of hazardous trees, tree planting and the training of volunteers and city/county employees to best care for community forests. 
  • Missouri Elderly and Handicap Transportation Assistance Program - $8,715 - Liberty Access Bus transportation operations.
  • National Recreation and Park Association - $3,000 - Supports Evidence-Based programs.

Grants help LPR provide the best possible programs and services to the Liberty community. Staff works year round to seek out new grant opportunities, apply and fulfill each grant's requirements.
