The Liberty Parks & Rec Health & Wellness Division offers a variety of specialty fitness classes and one or two day workshops to help you reach your fitness goals and live to your fullest potential.

Tai Chi: This class combines mental focus with deliberate graceful movements that improve strength, agility, flexibility, coordination and challenges balance. Tai Chi can help lower blood pressure, improve balance and reduce fall frequency. This class meets on Wednesday and Thursday Date: Sept. 26-Dec. 12
Fit for Life: This small group personal training program is designed to focus on improving your overall health as you age. You will work with a personal trainer who specializes in making fitness available for all. You will focus on flexibility, mobility, range of motion, balance and strength training to help you maintain or improve your quality of life. Dates: Oct. 1-26 and Nov. 5-28
Baby + Me Yoga in the Park: Liberty Parks & Rec has partnered with Serenity on the Square to offer Baby + Me Yoga at Westboro-Canterbury Greenway. Baby + Me is a monthly benefit with donations being collected to support baby changing stations in the parks. It is instructed and coordinated by Brenna Dean of Serenity on the Square. Date: Sept. 15
Fun w/ Food- Healthy Lunchbox: Are you ready to learn, build, and play? Join us for the Healthy Lunchbox where we will learn about food and food groups, use nutrient dense foods to build recognizable little creatures that we all know and love, and most importantly play. This interactive workshop will be hands on fun for the entire family. Healthy Lunchbox is part of the Fun w/ food program, a series of workshops designed to help young ones culture positive experiences and healthy relationships with food. Date: Sept. 29
Pilates Reformer for Whole Body Health: Are you ready to expand your Pilates experience! Have you always wanted to try a reformer? The Pilates Reformer is an exercise machine used to incorporate the Pilates exercise technique for a challenging and intense workout. This Wellness Workshop is bringing Pilates Reformers to LCC. These 50 minute private sessions on the Pilates Reformer are a great way to try one out and see the how they work. Date: Oct. 6
Foam Roller: Do your muscles hurt? Are you stretching and your muscles still feel tight? Or maybe you feel your muscles are too tight to even stretch so you don’t. Foam rolling is a great way to loosen up tight muscles, increase range of motion, as well as improve circulation. Foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release (aka self-massage). This 1-hour foam rolling workshop will cover why you should use your foam roller and how to use your foam roller properly during. Date: Oct. 20
Yoga for Back Pain: Do you suffer from back pain? Most of us don't realize that back pain is coming from flexibility and strength issues in other areas of the body. This workshop will breakdown the anatomy of the spine- including hips, knees, feet, and shoulders- constant offenders in the cause of back pain. A combination of learning and posture, we will spend the time creating more movement and health for our spines. Date: Nov. 17
