With the recent purchase of a water tanker for the Fire Department and improvements to the City’s water delivery system over the past year, the City of Liberty has earned the Insurance Service Office (ISO) Public Protection Class (PPC) 3 designation.
This classification, which will go into effect December 1, 2012, is an improvement from the City’s current Class 4 designation. Why does this matter to Liberty residents? Most insurance companies use a community’s PPC to determine rates for personal/residential or commercial property insurance. Communities whose PPC improves, as Liberty’s has, may get lower insurance prices.
