Today’s test of Liberty’s outdoor warning sirens was part of a migration to a new system for the City’s public safety dispatch operations. It was scheduled prior to next week's state-wide test and the start of the City’s typical monthly tests that will get underway in April. We will conduct additional tests of the new system today (Feb. 26) between 4–5 p.m.
The state-wide tornado drill will be March 4 at 1:30 p.m., as part of the Missouri Severe Weather Awareness Week, which runs from March 3-7.
Beginning in April, the City will test the sirens at 11 a.m., on the first Wednesday of every month through October. The City will not sound the sirens on these days if the weather conditions do not allow.
