Beginning June 1, Mississippi Street, between Gallatin and Main streets, will be closed to allow the Utilities Department Construction Division to replace an old clay tile sewer line on Mississippi Street. While in the area, the crew will also construct an 8'' Water line to connect existing Water mains. This will help improve water flow in the downtown area.
If the weather cooperates, we anticipate this project will be completed by the beginning of August. During the project, crews will re-open the street to accommodate downtown events, such as Liberty Arts Squared, June 5-6.
