[ARCHIVED] LPR Cancellations/Closures

With increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in Clay County and continued concern about community spread, we are closing additional Parks & Rec facilities /amenities. Beginning Monday, March 30, all City facilities will be closed to the public through May 15. Below are additional closures/cancellations for Liberty Parks & Rec.

As of April 17:

  • All Courts, Bennett Park Skatepark, and Stocksdale Park are Closed (3/30 until further notice) 
    •  In addition to park playgrounds and restrooms, the following will be closed by the end of the day on 3/30 at the latest: 
      • All basketball, pickleball, volleyball and tennis courts,
      • Bennett Park skatepark
      • Stocksdale Park, including dog park, disc golf, walking and bike trails, horseshoe barn & pits, cricket pitch.
  • Playgrounds and Restrooms Closed (3/26 until further notice)
    • Please follow the social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control when using the parks. We apologize for the inconvenience but care about the health and wellness of our community. Learn more about parks and trails use.
  • Liberty Community Center (LCC)
    • Closed through May 15
    • including all facilities, programs and activities
  • Liberty Silver Center
    • Programs and lunches are suspended through May 17
      • per recommendation from Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)
  • Liberty Access Bus
    • Trips are suspended through May 15
  • Liberty Performing Arts Theatre
    • Events cancelled through May 15
  • Youth Sports
    • Youth Soccer- Cancelled
    • Youth Volleyball- Cancelled
    • Youth Tennis Lessons- April and May Cancelled
    • Baseball, Softball and T-Ball- Postponed
      • scheduled to start May 15
      • registration deadline will be April 30
      • no practices or activities
      • Credit on file or full refund is available
  • Tippi Toes Dance
    • Suspended until LCC opens
  • FastKick Martial Arts
    • Session III is cancelled (3/23-4/17)
    • Session IV is TBA
  • ActivStars Karate
    • Suspended until LCC opens
  • Adult Sports
    • Volleyball, Basketball and Softball- Cancelled
      • full amount will be refunded
  • Dog Obedience
    • Postponed until May 15
  • Capitol Federal® Sports Complex of Liberty
    • Tournaments cancelled through May 15 
  • Park shelter rentals
    • Cancelled through May 15 
  • Popcorn in the park - rescheduled for August 28
