Liberty Public Works will be starting a storm sewer pipe replacement project on North Clayview Drive the week of Jan. 29, weather permitting. North Clayview Drive will be closed to all traffic at Kansas Street. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic down West College Street and Westwoods Drive to access Kansas Street. Construction is scheduled to take 30 about days.
In December, Public Works investigated an area of collapsing sidewalk near Clayview Drive and found that the collapse was a result of a failing 84" corrugated metal storm sewer pipe. Due to the extent of the deterioration, an emergency repair is required to remove and replace with reinforced concrete pipe.
