[ARCHIVED] Liberty Community Christmas Tree Assistance Program Accepting Applications

Halloween isn’t even here yet, but the Liberty Community Christmas Tree Program already is gearing up and will be accepting applications October 4 - November 12 for those that need Christmas assistance.

The program is designed to lend a hand to disadvantaged Liberty area families who might not otherwise have a joyous holiday season. Anyone living within the Liberty School district boundaries is eligible for assistance. School-aged children must be enrolled in a Liberty school. Enrollment will be confirmed.

Each year donations are used to provide volunteer shoppers with vouchers to purchase gifts and non-perishable foods are collected through area schools and other food drives. Last year, program volunteers delivered gifts and food to 648 children and their families.

If you need assistance, call the Liberty Community Christmas Tree program at 816-439-4424. Phones are answered Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Deadline for applying for Christmas assistance is November 12. Late applications will not be accepted.
