This new matching program allows residents to identify their own priorities for their neighborhood and to undertake the enhancement project together.
Grant awards could range from $500 to $5000, depending on the scope of the project, the number of grant proposals received, and the funding available. The City Council has set aside $5,000 in the 2011 budget for this program. Neighborhoods must provide a 50 percent match to the amount of the grant, which could be met through the value of donated services, materials, and labor in addition to cash.
More information about the grant and the application form are available on the City’s website at www.ci.liberty.mo.us/neighborhoods under the Quick Links section, or by calling 439.4537. The deadline for submitting a grant application is March 31, 2011.
