[ARCHIVED] Liberty Silver Center knit & stich for the Linus Project

The Liberty Silver Center is home to the Silver Stitchers, who like to knit and stitch for a good cause.

The Silver Stitchers meets every Tuesday and Wednesday to socialize while they quilt, knit, crochet or work on other crafts. Each quarter the group selects a charitable organization to support. This quarter the group is collecting baby blankets for the Linus Project. Created in 1995, the Linus Project is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States who make blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need, through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afghans.

If you are interested in knitting for a cause, join the Silver Stitchers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. If you can’t stay and work but want to create or have items to donate, just drop them off at the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd. through Friday, June 24. All items will be donated to the local chapter of the Linus Project. Please be sure items are clean and free of odors such as pet, perfume or smoke. We ask all items be handmade and appropriate for children.

The Liberty Silver Center is located inside the Liberty Community Center at 1600 S. Withers Rd. For more information, call the Liberty Silver Center at 439.4368.
