The Liberty Community Christmas Tree (LCCT) invites Liberty elementary students to put their artistic skill to work for its 2011 coloring/decorating contest. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Download and print the entry form and picture from www.ci.liberty.mo.us/LCCT
2. Have your child color or decorate it.
3. Return completed artwork, along with the competed entry form to your school by 2:00 p.m., October 28. LCCT organizers will pick up the entries from the schools on October 31.
Judging will take place on Tuesday, November 1, with three winners selected from each grade (K-5). Coloring contest winners will be recognized at the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony kick-off event on November 17. The event begins at 6 pm. Contest winners will accompany the Mayor when he lights the Community Christmas Tree at the lighting ceremony and will receive a small gift for participating in the contest.
Schools will be notified of the winners prior to the lighting ceremony and there will be announcements in the News Flash, on the City’s website, Channel 2, Twitter and in the Liberty Tribune.
Established in 1986, the Liberty Community Christmas Tree helps disadvantaged families and senior citizens during the holiday season. Donations are used to provide volunteer shoppers with vouchers to purchase gifts and non-perishable foods are collected through area schools’ food drives. The LCCT anticipates providing assistance to more than 300 families in 2011.
