[ARCHIVED] While its runs get a new paint of coat, Liberty Animal Shelter will be closed

While the interior runs at the Liberty Animal Shelter are getting a new coat of paint, the facility will be closed and unable to accept stray or unwanted animals. The shelter is expected to re-open on Nov. 21.

Animals currently at the shelter will still be available for adoption, but will be moved and temporarily housed at other area facilities while the painting is underway.

As situations arise in the coming week, citizens are requested to help by seeking alternative solutions for the sheltering of stray and other unwanted animals, such as contacting private shelters or rescue groups.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.
