Recognizing that budgets are tight for everyone, the Liberty City Council has continued the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program to help Liberty residents reinvest in their own neighborhoods. Now in its second year, this matching program allows residents to identify their own priorities for their neighborhood and to undertake the enhancement project together.
Grant awards could range from $500 to $5000, depending on the scope of the project, the number of grant proposals received, and the funding available. The City Council has set aside $5,000 in the 2012 budget for this program. Neighborhoods must provide a 50 percent match to the cost of the project, which could be met through the value of donated services, materials, and labor in addition to cash.
