[ARCHIVED] City of Liberty to partner with Heartland Tree Alliance to build an online “tree fund”

Liberty residents like their trees. As the oldest community in the metro area, Liberty’s abundant tree canopy is one of the many things that makes this town a great place to live. As the city grows, so too must its community forest. Through a new online initiative by the Heartland Tree Alliance (HTA), residents can now pay directly for the planting of trees in their hometown.

The Liberty Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Liberty Tree Board and Tree Liberty, will work with HTA to determine the best way to invest the tree fund in Liberty. This could mean planting seedlings along streams and creeks or planting 12-foot street trees. The $1,000 pays for different quantities in different situations, from as many as 1,000 bare-root seedlings to six street trees. Whatever the quantity, the impact will be the same: Tree Fund donations will directly and quickly green Liberty and the Kansas City area.

Making a donation is easy and secure. Just go to Click on the Liberty “Click to Donate” button and fill out the donation form. Upon completion of the form, you will automatically receive a printable certificate of recognition and tax-receipt to the email address provided below
