Every two years, elections are held for the mayoral seat, four City Council seats (one of the two seats for each ward) and four honorary positions*.

Filing for the mayoral seat, four City Council seats (one of the two seats for each ward) and four honorary positions begins Dec. 11, 2012. Candidates may file their "Declaration of Candidacy" during regular business hours (8 a.m – 5 p.m.) Dec. 11, 2012 – Jan. 15, 2013. Please keep in mind that City Hall will be closed in observance of holidays on December 25 and January 1.

The “Declaration of Candidacy” form will be available through the Deputy City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 101 E. Kansas and must be filled out in person at City Hall.
