If so, consider helping Liberty Meals on Wheels deliver nutritious meals to 72 home-bound Liberty seniors.
Liberty Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteer drivers to help deliver a noon meal to older adults in the city limits of Liberty. The non-profit organization, which has been helping Liberty seniors for 40 years, needs volunteers who can deliver just one day a week. Openings are available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Volunteers are assigned a route that takes approximately 30-45 minutes to deliver.
“Volunteers are crucial to the program” says Jeff Dema, Meals on Wheels Board member. “The volunteers not only deliver a warm nutritious meal, but also deliver a friendly face and a daily wellness check to our recipients. The meals enable these residents to maintain their independence and remain in their homes.
If you or your organization is interested in delivering meals, an application can be completed and submitted on-line through www.ci.liberty.mo.us/mealsonwheels or contact the Meals on Wheels office at 816.439.4398.
