Get rid of excess trash, furniture, minor maintenance materials and carpet during the City of Liberty's annual spring clean-up.
Items must be placed at the curb or roadway on your regular trash day during the week of April 22-26. Each item, with the exception of large pieces of furniture, must not exceed 45 pounds or be longer than 4 feet. All items must be securely tied, bagged or bundled.
The following items will not be accepted and should not be placed at the curb for pickup:
-- tires,
-- hazardous waste (including paint, insecticides, chemicals or batteries,
-- appliances,
-- refuse from remodeling,
-- roofing or major repairs,
-- yard waste, or
-- concrete, rock and rubble.
In addition to the curbside pickup, the City will also open the tree limb disposal area, located on new 210 Highway approximately ½ mile east of Highway 291, for citizens with proof of Liberty residency. The tree limb disposal area will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. April 22-26 and from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. April 27. Residents should watch for signage on the north side of new 210 Highway identifying the site area. Only tree limbs may be brought to the area. Other yard waste will not be accepted. No commercial vehicles will be allowed to access the site.
If you come across Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) materials during your spring cleaning, you don't have to wait until October to dispose of them. Liberty area residents may participate at no charge in the Regional HHW Center collection program. This includes access to mobile collection events in Liberty and other participating communities as well as access to permanent facilities in Kansas City and Lee's Summit.
