[ARCHIVED] Kevin Graham appointed to Ward III Council seat

At a special session of the Liberty City Council on April 29, Kevin Graham was recommended by Mayor Lyndell Brenton and approved by the Liberty City Council to fill the vacant Ward III City Council seat.

Graham will hold the seat for two years, completing the term vacated by Brenton’s mid-term election to mayor.

A long-time Liberty resident and local attorney with an office on the historic Liberty square, Graham served on the City of Liberty’s Infrastructure Task Force 2009. In the past several years, the City of Liberty has implemented a number of the task force’s recommendations, including addressing non-revenue water usage; assuming operations of the City’s water treatment facility; and hiring a utilities director.

In addition to his law practice, Graham has served as attorney for Clay County for 15 years. He is also a member of the Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc., Economic Development Committee; William Jewell College Alumni Board of Governors; Clay County Bar Association; and the Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce.

He has also volunteered for a number of years as a Liberty Parks and Recreation coach for baseball, basketball and soccer.

Graham is a graduate of Liberty High School, William Jewell College and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
