[ARCHIVED] The temperature is rising and the Liberty Community Center is place to cool off!

Area residents who would like to take advantage of the cooling center should go to the main lobby of the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd. People are encouraged to bring their necessary personal items like medicines and ready-to-eat snacks.

The Liberty Community Center lobby is available as a cooling center when temperatures reach 90 degrees or greater during regular hours. Area residents who would like to take advantage of the cooling center during these times should go to the main lobby of the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Road.

The Community Center is open:
Mon. - Thurs.: 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Fri.: 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Sat.: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Sun.: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

This area provides residents a cool place to get out of the oppressive heat. People are encouraged to bring their necessary personal items like medicines and ready-to-eat snacks.

Older adults, aged 60 and older, can also visit the Liberty Silver Center to cool off and for a $2 donation can have lunch as well.

Mid-Continent Libraries including the Liberty branch at 1000 Kent St.
