The Fountain Bluff Sports Complex hosts an estimated 200,000 visitors each year for various baseball, softball and soccer leagues and tournaments. But the sports complex also has eight fishing ponds with bass, catfish, crappie, sunfish and now two ponds also have rainbow trout.

The Missouri Department of Conservation stocks Fountain Bluff's two front ponds four times throughout the winter with rainbow trout. MDC stocked the ponds in November with 500 fish, each!

A Missouri fishing permit is required, and a trout permit also is required if trout are not released. Fountain Bluff is one of only four Winter Trout Areas in the Kansas City area.

There is a daily limit of four fish with no length limit on rainbow trout. MDC will restock trout in January, February and March.
