[ARCHIVED] Beginning at 7 p.m., Heavy transport through Liberty will affect traffic Thursday evening

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16, a private company will begin transporting a piece of heavy equipment through, requiring some temporary road closures.

Affected roads in and around Liberty include:
-- Suddarth
-- Mill, from Suddarth to Liberty Dr.
-- Liberty Dr., from Mill to Rte. 291
-- Rte. 291, from Liberty Dr. to Rte. 152
-- Rte. 152, from Rte 291 to I-35
-- Northbound and Southbound I-53, between Rte. 152 and Rte 291
-- Rte. 291, from I-35 to City Limits

Once the 480,000 pound piece of equipment is loaded onto the transport trucks/trailer, the company estimates it will take approximately 3-hours to move through Liberty. They will have traffic control assistance from the Liberty Police Department within Liberty and several Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers throughout the move.

To avoid driving delays, we encourage you to use alternate routes to avoid these areas between 7 – 10 pm
