Liberty Parks and Recreation contracts with Ellis & Associates, Inc., to provide National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program (NPWLTP) certification and recertification courses. Local swimming pools will soon be looking to hire individuals who have already completed a lifeguard program.

During the three-day program for new certification, which you will complete in one weekend, you'll learn:

-- Spinal management.
-- How to use an AED and supplemental oxygen.
-- Water-rescue skills.
