[ARCHIVED] Get a jump on holiday shopping a the Liberty Silver Center’s Craft Fair

With Christmas right a round the corner, wouldn’t it be great to get all your shopping done in one location? The Liberty Silver Center is hosting a craft fair on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. A wide variety of handmade crafts will be available. Crafts range from greeting cards to holiday wreaths; wood carvings to knitted blankets.

The advisory board at the Silver Center and staff are continually looking for new program opportunities for participants, but with the tough economic times, it is difficult to fund new programs. The craft fair is another way the Silver Center is working to raise funds outside the City of Liberty’s general fund budget.

Located in the Liberty Community Center at 1600 S. Withers Road, the Liberty Silver Center is a place where adults aged 60 or older gather for fellowship, fun and food. Approximately 400 people visit the Silver Center each year to participate in a wide variety of activities from education programs, live performances, holiday parties, card playing, Bingo and much more.
