With temps shooting past 90° this week, the Liberty Community Center lobby is open as a cooling center during regular business hours. The Community Center is located at 1600 S. Withers Road. Don't forget to bring any medications or other items you may need. If you'd like to cool off by the pool, you can also purchase a day pass to access other parts of the facility.
Senior citizens, 60 years of age or older, may receive some welcome relief from the summer heat at the Liberty Silver Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd. The Silver Center is not only a place to get a break from the heat, but also a place to eat a healthy lunch and maybe make a friend or two. Check out the Silver Center's summer Activity Guide»
If you would like to come to the Silver Center, please call 816.439.4368 to make your lunch reservation. Lunch reservations are required 24 hours in advance. Lunch is served Monday-Friday at 11:30 a.m. A $1.50 donation for the meal is accepted. The center is open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and offers a wide variety of activities.
