[ARCHIVED] LPR Cancellations/Closures

To help reduce the risk of COVID-19,  the City of Liberty is expanding steps to ensure the health of our community, staff and making sure we have a plan for continuity of City services in place. Beginning Monday, March 24, all City facilities will be closed to the public through April 24. Below are additional closures/cancellations for Liberty Parks & Rec.

As of March 23:

  • Liberty Community Center (LCC)
    • Closed through April 24
    • including all facilities, programs and activities
  • Liberty Silver Center
    • Programs and lunches are suspended through May 17
      • per recommendation from Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)
  • Liberty Access Bus
    • Trips are suspended through April 24
  • Liberty Performing Arts Theatre
    • Events cancelled through April 24
  • Youth Sports
    • Youth Soccer- Cancelled
    • Youth Volleyball- Cancelled
    • Youth Tennis Lessons- April and May Cancelled
    • Baseball, Softball and T-Ball- Postponed
      • scheduled to start May 15
      • registration deadline will be April 30
      • no practices or activities
      • Credit on file or full refund is available
  • Tippi Toes Dance
    • Suspended until LCC opens
  • FastKick Martial Arts
    • Session III is cancelled (3/23-4/17)
    • Session IV is TBA
  • ActivStars Karate
    • Suspended until LCC opens
  • Adult Sports
    • Volleyball, Basketball and Softball- Cancelled
      • full amount will be refunded
  • Dog Obedience
    • Postponed until April 29
  • Capitol Federal® Sports Complex of Liberty
    • Tournaments cancelled through April 24
  • Park shelter rentals
    • Cancelled through April 24
  • Big Bunny Bash- Cancelled
  • Parks & Open Space
    • Playgrounds, Trails and other Greenspaces
      • At this point we are not closing parks, trails and other greenspaces but would encourage all people to follow the social distancing guidelines outlined by the CDC. We apologize for the inconvenience but care about the health and wellness of our community.
    • Social Distancing
      • We strongly suggest that activity at Liberty parks and greenspaces be limited to passive activities that do not require large or small groupings of people, such as but not limited team and group related activities, games and tournaments.
    • Playscapes/Swing Sets
      • It is not recommended to use playgrounds, swing sets or any park amenity that would require you to touch, grab, and climb etc. at the risk of transmitting the virus.
