Join us for Sleep Awareness Week® Mar. 14-20. Launched in 1998, Sleep Awareness Week is the National Sleep Foundation's (NSF) national public education campaign that celebrates sleep health and encourages the public to prioritize sleep to improve health and well-being.
Tips to help you get the most out of your sleep:
- Go to sleep at the same time every day, including weekends
- Set a relaxing bedtime routine such as listening to relaxing music, reading a book, or taking a warm bath/shower
- Keep your bedroom cool. A bedroom between 60-67 degrees Fahrenheit helps promote sleep
- Make sure your bedroom is dark and dim any digital lights
- Finish eating 2-3 hours before bedtime
- Exercise regularly
- Limit caffeine, especially in the afternoon
- Alcohol and nicotine can cause nighttime waking. Skip them close to bedtime or altogether
NSF provides valuable information during Sleep Awareness Week about the benefits of optimal sleep and how sleep affects health, well-being, and safety. Learn more »
