The City of Liberty has started gathering information and public input for a new Comprehensive Plan. This process will provide the community, City staff and the City Council with a compelling vision and plan that will be used to guide decision-making and development for the next 10+ years.
The “Leading Liberty Forward” Comprehensive Plan will provide an inclusive framework for action-ready and consistent planning of neighborhoods, commercial corridors, trails and public open spaces. It will consider plans for future city growth with a strong emphasis on land use, development and redevelopment patterns, infrastructure, transportation and mobility, and housing diversity. The goal is to finalize the Liberty Comprehensive Plan by early spring 2023.
“A city’s comprehensive plan is a document which establishes policy for making land use decisions and a vision for community growth, development and future investment.” stated Katherine Sharp, Director of Planning and Development. “Part of creating a new and updated comprehensive plan, through this “Leading Liberty Forward” process, is collecting community input to identify what types of projects and developments the Liberty community wants to see in the future. Looking forward 10 – 25 years, we are excited to see what the future has in store for Liberty!”
The community will have a variety of opportunities to provide input to the “Leading Liberty Forward” planning process, including interviews with stakeholders, a community survey, in-person and virtual public open houses and pop-up events.
