The Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an informative forum about the proposed Public Safety Sales Tax Forum on Tuesday, March 4. City officials, staff and members of Liberty Police Headquarters Community Group will share information about the needs and challenges facing Liberty's first responders and provide information about the 1% Public Safety Sales Tax that is on the April 8 ballot.
This proposed sales tax increase would fund critical public safety initiatives, including:
- A major renovation and expansion of the Liberty Police Department facility.
- Competitive salaries and benefits for Liberty's Police Officers and Firefighters.
- Future purchases of police and fire equipment will ensure that our first responders have the tools they need to protect our community.
