Crews are moving on to phase two of the Mississippi Street water line replacement project. This will involve replacing the last 70 feet of this water line. Beginning Monday, May 12, Mississippi Street will be closed to thru traffic between Maple Street and High Street. Weather permitting, this project should be completed by mid June. Please follow all traffic control and detour signs.
The section of Mississippi from Fairview to N Maple that was affected by the first phase of the project has been asphalted and will be open for traffic.
Once the main is replaced, crews will start working on the Mississippi Street Sidewalk Improvement Project that will provide a safe path for residents to walk along Mississippi Street.
