Weather permitting, Liberty Parks & Rec will perform a controlled burn on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 7:30 a.m. - about 12 p.m. where smoke and fire may be visible around Old 210 Hwy and New 210 Hwy.
This is to remove reed grass, an invasive and fast spreading vegetation growing around the ponds. Burning the vegetation is the fastest and easiest way to control the growth and spread of this invasive plant. The Liberty Fire Department is aware of and has approved this controlled burn.
