[ARCHIVED] Westboro North Trail

The Westboro North Trail, the portion of the Westboro/Canterbury trail that connects to Liberty Drive, is temporarily closed between the middle bridge and the bridge closest to Liberty Drive, while Parks and Recreation and Public Works staff repairs an area of erosion that is undercutting a small section of the trail. This portion of the trail could be closed for up to two weeks, depending on the weather.

Parks and public works staff worked together to identify an affordable and durable solution for not only the current issue, but also to prevent future issues. The repair will include a 60 foot long retaining wall along the creek bank, infill of rock and soil between the retaining wall and the trail as well as installation of grass matting, which will start a root system to prevent further erosion

The cost for the repair is estimated at $5,000-$6,000 and will be funded through the Parks Maintenance division, which is supported by the ¼-cent Parks sales tax and personal property tax levy.

We appreciate your patience as staff works to repair one of the community's popular recreational amenities.
