Although no reports have been received from the Liberty Police Department, other metropolitan municipalities are warning their residents of telephone scams in which the caller, posing as a employee with the city water department, asks for personal financial information.

The City of Liberty does not seek credit card or other personal financial information over the phone, and anyone receiving such a call should call the police department.
