[ARCHIVED] Liberty Parks and Recreation Charitable Fund Winter Carnival

Bring the kids to the Liberty Parks and Recreation Charitable Fund Winter Carnival for some holiday fun and games on Saturday December 12, 2009.

This fun-filled family event, which will be held from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Liberty Community Center, will offer “reindeer” games with prizes (tickets required), the opportunity to meet your favorite Christmas characters, pictures with Santa, stories with Mrs. Claus and holiday refreshments.

Register in advance to reserve your keepsake picture ornament, which will be completed before Santa’s sleigh leaves for the day. Advanced registration by December 4 is $10 and includes: keepsake ornament, refreshments and five game tickets. Day-of-the-event registration will be $5 and includes: refreshments and 5 game tickets. The Liberty Community Center is located at 1600 S. Withers Rd.

Reindeer game tickets also will be available for purchase the day of the event, 5 for $1 or 25 cents each. Keepsake picture ornaments will be available on a first come first serve basis, for those participants that are not pre-registered.

All proceeds of this event will benefit the Liberty Parks and Recreation Charitable Fund. The Liberty Parks and Recreation Charitable Fund is part of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, a not-for-profit 501c3. The Fund sponsors the successful youth scholarship program enabling children from low-income families to participate in Parks and Recreation programs they otherwise might not have been able to enjoy.

If you or your organization are looking for volunteer opportunities this holiday season consider assisting with this event. For more information on volunteering, please call Anna Slocum, at 816.439.4366.
