[ARCHIVED] Liberty Travelers: A Soldier's Passage Through Kansas City registration deadline June 25

Today will be a unique adventure as we step back in time and remember our soldiers from the past and the path they took through Kansas City. Our day begins at the Nation's first and only WWI museum. This museum, which opened in 2006 is an interactive museum featuring realistic exhibits that re-create "the war to end all wars." For a late lunch you will be introduced to a restaurant called Grand Street Cafe, a wonderful and popular restaurant in the KC Plaza area. We will continue our walk through history at Union Station, dedicated in 1914 and the site of many tearful partings and joyful reunions during wartime. We will visit the KC Rail Experience exhibit which depicts the history of the rail system in KC and the impact it has had on the community. Finally, we will board Amtrak, just as our soldiers did, for a short but nostalgic train ride. Our motor coach will be waiting for us in Lee's Summit.

To register for this trip, visit www.ci.liberty.mo.us/lpr or call 439-4360.

Registration is open to the first 28 reservations or through June 25. The trip date is scheduled for July 29.
