[ARCHIVED] Liberty Travelers: Missouri's Plantations registration deadline July 2

On August 3 we will visit several historic plantations and homes in the Boonville area. Our first stop will be at Burwood, built in 1883 and features eight fireplaces and a slave cabin. We will continue our tour at Pleasant Green Plantation, once included in Union General Lyon's campsite. The plantation began with a one room structure and 80 acres and grew in the mid 1880s to holdings reaching 2400 acres. Our next stop will be at Roslyn Heights in Boonville. It was built in 1895 and was the most elaborate home in Boonville. In 1983 the Missouri DAR purchased the home and restored it to its 1890s elegance. The last home we will tour is Ravenswood. The furnishings in this home depict the cosmopolitan life of Cooper County's wealthier families after the Civil War.

To register for this day trip, visit www.ci.liberty.mo.us/lpr or call 439-4360.

Registration is open to the first 28 reservations or through July 2.
