If you feel a Liberty Police Employee acted improperly, you may file a formal complaint. Please include details of the complaint, when and where the incident happened, and a description or name of the employee(s) involved. Provide your information so that we may contact you with any questions or follow up. If a complaint is filed and found to be without merit, an investigation will not be opened. You will be notified by mail or telephone if this happens. If a Professional Standards investigation is opened, a review or investigation will occur. You will be notified of the disposition of the complaint and the Chief of Police will take appropriate action. All complaints will be reviewed.
If the investigation reveals the complaint was made maliciously, in bad faith, or with the knowledge that the accusation is false, (RSMo 575.080) criminal prosecution and/or civil action may occur as deemed appropriate.
I understand that if I do not cooperate with the complaint process, the complaint will be closed. Having read and understood this information regarding filing and processing of a complaint against an employee of the Liberty Police Department, I do wish to proceed with the investigation relative to my complaint.
