Donations

The City of Liberty Animal Shelter takes in hundreds of animals each year. Donations are always needed and very much appreciated by both our human staff and the animals that they care for every day.

Donation Wish List

The Liberty Animal Control staff keeps an Amazon Wish List updated with items needed at the shelter. Below is a list of ideas that are often needed:

  • Cat treats
  • Dog treats (please, no real bones)
  • Non-clumping and non-scoopable cat litter
  • Cardboard flats (low-sided, topless boxes that canned food items are packaged in. Used as disposable litter boxes)
  • Laundry detergent and bleach
  • Glad Force Flex trash bags (13 gallon and 50 gallon)
  • Batteries - 9V and AA
  • Paper towels
  • Blankets, towels and washcloths
  • New or gently used kennels
  • Heating pads
  • Collars - gentle leader head harness
  • Cleaning supplies like lysol, lysol wipes, Mr. Clean erasers, liquid hand soap, dawn dish soap, scrubbing bubbles and sponges
  • Cotton Balls
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Rubbermaid containers
  • Air fresheners
  • Milk Replacement Powder (KMR or Esbilac)
  • Animal baby bottles
  • Peanut butter
  • Stainless steel pet bowls
  • Puppy pads
  • Feliway Spray
  • Adaptil Spray
  • Zum Spray Scents
  • Small pet beds
  • Step ladders
  • Squeegees
  • Toys for dogs and cats. Enrichment toys like nylabones, Kongs, ripple rugs, pet puzzles, sturdy ice cube trays
  • Kiddie pools

  • Teaser wand toy for dogs

Hill's Food, Shelter, Love Program

The Liberty Animal Shelter is able to keep all of our animals well fed through a partnership with Hill's Science Diet. The Food, Shelter, Love program allows Animal Control to purchase Hill's Science Diet dog and cat food at a discounted rate, keeping the animals in the shelter on a steady, unchanging diet.
